Rev. Mary Hunter Young Will Be Guest Speaker At Shiloh Baptist Church Women's Day Service Th? R?v, Mary Hufrtef Young, a native of Enfield, will be the Women's Day speaker at Shiloh Baptist Church Sunday. Nov. 8, at 1 1 a.m. Rev. Young is a 1980 graduate of Virginia Union University with a bachelor of science degree in mathe matics and a 1985 graduate of the School of Theology at Virginia Union, where she received the mas ter of divinity degree. She was awarded the S.H. James Theological Prize for class valedictorian. While a student at the School of Theology, she was a Benjamin E. Mays Fel low, and received a three-year Rev. Mary Hunter Young Fellowship Bible Baptist Church Church Celebrates Anniversary scholarship from the Fund fof Theo logical Education. Rev. Young has experience in the secular arena as a computer programmer and analyst, working with both religious and non-religious organizations. She is presently employed as the director of church research and renewal with the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, where she administrates a S3 17,000 grant given to the conven tion by the Lilly Endowment to study the black Baptist churches in the state and to give seed monies to groups of rural churches wishing to become involved in collaborative ministry efforts. Rev. Young is the author of a meditation guide, "Teach Us to Pray," and is a contributing author Church Celebrates Pastor's Anniversary (, The New Institutional Baptist iChurch will celebrate its pastor's 6th anniversary on Nov. 5. The Rev. Billy Ray Smith and Rock Hill Baptist Church will be the guests. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 6, the Rev. Samuel Cornelius and New Jerusalem Baptist Church will be the guests. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The anniversary will close on Sunday, Nov. 8. The morning wor ship service's guests will be speak er Rev. Reginald Smoot and the congregation of Middle Fork Christian Church. Strvice will begin at 1 1 a.m. The guest speaker for the evening service will be the Rev. 1 Derioux Johnson and Providence Baptist Church of Kernersville. Service will begin at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served before the service. Rev. Anthony L Hints The public is cordially invited to attend all of the anniversary events. The Rev. Anthony L. Zion Church, Bethania-Rural Hall Road, will eel- j ebrate its annual Lay Men's Day on Sunday, November 8. the speaker for the service will be Mark S. Woodson, a member of the Church. Mr. Woodson is a native of Fayet Mark S. Woodson -teville where he graduated from public schools and received an associate degree in engineering technology from Fayetteville Tech nical Institute. He received his Bachelors degree in engineering technology from the University of N.C. at Charlotte and a masters of business administration form the University of N.C. at Greensboro. He has addi tional studies with a major concen tration in religious studies. As a member of Bethania A.M.E. Zion Church, he serves on the Steward Board, Usher Board, and Scholarship Committee. He is chairman of the Finance Committee and the Men's Organiza tion. Mr. Woodson is a member of various professional and communi ty organizations including the Exec utive committee Old Hickory Coun cil Explorer Clubs, Chairman Scholarship Committee of Alliance of Black Telecommunication Work ers, and volunteer to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs and drug prevention programs. He is currently employed with AT & T as a senior projects manag er. He is married to former Debbie Springs. They have Three children. The Rev. Dr. Donald C. Nol ness Sr. is the Pastor of Bethania AME Zioti Church. v American Baptist Churches, Church and Community Development Unit, "So You Want to Renew Your Con gregation." She has also worked with some members of the Small Church Team of ABC in the devel opment of a training curriculum for rural and small churches, "Seeds of Renewal." She is a faculty member of the Evans-Smith Institute for church leadership at the School of Theolo gy, Virginia Union University, and shares her gifts as a workshop leader, preacher, lecturer, and teacher statewide.
