Q. Since my husband died about 1
four weeks ago, I've noticed a ?
"weak feeling." I had a check- ;
"up with my Joctor and be says i
I'm fine. Is .his normal?
A. Yes. There arc several somatic j
symptoms that are common to
people who grieve. A feeling of * ^
muscle weakness is one of them.
Others include lightness in the I
throat and chest, a need for sigh- ?
ing. an empty feeling in the abdo
men and a sense of numbness. As '
? your bereavement progresses you
will find this weakness less Douce
able It will disappear as you feel (
more in control of your life.
