i the north Carolina! ?repertory company! ? r 1 Recognizes Twana Gilliam as a Curator of the Arts Award recipient Flare for the Dramatic Twana S. Gilliam, a native of Winston Salem, has traveled extensively with the national tour of Michael Matthews' smash gospel play "I Need a Man." God con tinued to bless and open doors as she per formed twice at the National Black Theatre Festival in "African Odyssey" in 1995 and in "The Glory of Gospel'' in 1997 with the N.C. Black Repertory Company. She also per formed in the soul-stirring production "Alone." She brought the house down with her per formance in "Ain't Misbehavin" with tHe N.C. Black Repertory Company and that same performance again with the Barn Din ner Theatre in Greensboro. Most recently, she warmed the hearts of many as she per formed in NCBRC's production of "The Black Nativity." Led by a vision from God, Gilliam found ed a community choir in 1995, The Messen gers for Christ. At New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop John C. Parks. Gilliam is instrumental to the music ministry. She has unselfishly devoted time and energy to train and develop the Inspira tional Choir, the Young Adult Choir, the Mass Choir and the Praise Team. She uses her gift to enrich the body of Christ through choir workshops and concerts. Never forgetting her roots, Gilliam attrib utes her gift and talent to Olene Samuels, Ricky McKinney, Dr. Marion "Pete" Thomas, Larry Leon Hamlin and Mabel Robinson. Twana Gilliam is married to Curtis A. Gilliam and is the mother of two sons. Chris tian and Devin. Look for Twana GillianO debut release, "I Found The Answer." Tv/ana Gilliam brings down the house during a recent performance.
