The New York Steam Dredging Company are doing the work in a substantial . manner, " and when completed, will be a great conveni ence to vessels taking in -their cargoes there. " The W. & W. Railroad Company are also deep ening their entire water front by dredging, so that it may be con formable to the depth at the Com press Company's. When these two are completed tnere will be only the inrervening distance occupied by the C C Railroad which will not afford depth of water enough to float any vessel that can pass up and down the river.
