Bobby and Patty Smith enter tained with a holloween party on Thursday night at their home in Godwin. A number of games were enjdyed by the children. Orange, drinks, peanuts and candy was l aerved. Every one went in masquerade. Mrs. Pearl Calohan had charge of the recrea tion. They enjoyed a chicken fry supper. MjSgt. Bobby Williams has accepted a position with Sears Roebuck and I i Company in Fayetteville. Mrs. Frank Pitts entertained the i children of the community with a Halloween party on Friday night. Some of them are true and some are make-believe. Mrs. Johnson's 3rd Grade, MY AIRPLANE RIDE I had been wanting to ride on an airplane for a long time. Then one day my chancecame. My un cle took me to see some airplanes which came to the. nirpot near my home. One airplane was a . pret ty little red one. My uncle said I could ride in it. There was room in it only for the pilot arid me Soon we were flying high in fri sky. I looked out my window down on the streets for below. The cars looked like toys.. The people on the sidewalks looked like dolls walking around. My plane ride was the weekend at the J. E. Graham home. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Tew and small son. Perry of Clinton visited Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Williams Sunday. Mrs. D. M. Williams underwent surgery ori her hand at the Duke Hospital on Monday. She expects to be there for the remainder of this: week, Mrs. Williams hand was injured in a car accident, some time ago. Mrs. Bill Tart Ezzell has returned to her home from the Dunn Hos pital, but is still confined to her bed. CLASS HONORED AT PARTY The Junior class of the Godwin Baptist Church was entertained with a marshmellow roast at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Mur phy Holland on Wednesday even ing. October 29. The guests came in hallotveen costumes and through-out the even ing games, such as biting apples on the string, and other contests were enjoyed. Candy suckers were pass ed during the evening. On the plane I saw two men. One man piloted the plane and was called the pilot. The other one helped the pilot, and was called ‘the co-pilot The plane was big and had. many windows. Just be fore taking off w* fastened our Safety belts. When the plane took off 1 had a funny feeling in my stomach. I like the ride and the sights below, but I was glad to get on tile ground again. Soon we were high in the ■ air. We flew over a river and i( ! looked very pretty. I saw ears on i the highway and they looked like bugs crawling along. Next we Hew over a town. The stores and hous es looked very little. The rloi.i.- looked so diffe-ent high in the sky. Soon I fell asleep. After a short nap my ride was over.
