Ludwig said Lee Krubzack. 7. died Sunday in a Madison, Mis., hospital. Ludwig said he suspected polio as the cause of death. LONDON (UP)—The Western powers present today a plan for halting nuclear weapon tests if Russia will agree with them to stop making atomic weapons. (UP)—Two men were to be sent enced today for the rape May 17 of a 17year old girl. Her man Hooper. 22, of Cashiers, N. ASHEVILLE (CP)—An apparent earthquake early to day rattled windows and shook buildings in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The tremor, described as lairiy heavy, lasted lor about one minute. It occurred at 4:32 a. m. D UP — A farmer lost a foot in an hour-long struggle with a hay baler, then mounted his tractor and drove • home to summon aid. s Doctors said frictions from the rollers of the machine cauterized blood vessels in his leg and prob ably saved his life. •William Wilson, 37. was in good condition today at Jamestown ' Hospital, and physicians said he ‘ might leave in two weeks. r Wilson said he attempted to j speed the baling process Sunday ‘ and began to push hay into the machine with his foot. It was ' caught—and the powerful rollers 11 began to tug his body into the " j machine. 0! Mail orders and ticket sale are now being fil led at Th'em's Record Shop and Linden Man Rams Truck Into Train A Linden m n who said he y didn't hear an approaching At lantic Coast Line train drove his truck into tht side of a diesel en gine at the Hillsboro St. crossing in Fayetteville at 7 a m. Monday. Damage to the truck was esti mated at $100. The engine was , not hurt. The truck driver. Dennis L. Kin ton. Route One, Linden, said he did not see the slow-moving train until his truck rammed into the side of the engine. Harry Merritt. Wilmington, en gineer of Trail Number 229, told police the bell on the engine was clanging as the train approached the crossing. The accident halted traffic for several minutes on Hillsboro and Greensboro St. until the truck could be moved and an investi gation made by city police Woman Hurt In Car Wreck Jesse Johnson, 43, of Dunn has been charged by local police with careless and reckless driving. The charge grew out of a wreck Saturday which put Sarah Hardi son in the hospital and inflicted ! several head cuts on her husband Clifton Shaw Hardison of Autry ville. Damage to the two cars which collided at the intersection of East Cumberland was estimated by po lice at $1000. The greater damage was to the Johnson car. Hamlin Drug Company.
