ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE — Mrs. Tyrone Young Norris prior to her marriage June 15 in Dillon, S. C., was Miss Letha Leola Murphy, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Murphy of East Erwin. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Oarlie Young Norris of Erwin. The couple is making their home at 404 South 15tlh Street, Erwin. Wrenn-Currin Vows Exchanged In Buies Creek The Rev. E. Weldon Johnson heard the vows when Miss Ju dith Lynn Currin became the bride of William Parker Wrenn III at eight o’clock on Saturday evening in the Buies Creek Bap tist Church. Musicians were Mrs. A. Edgar Lynch, orgainst and Mrs. Preston Stephenson, soloist. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. James Robert Currin of Buies Creek and the late Mr. Currin and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wrenn II of Fuquay. Given in marriage by her bro ther, Larry Stewart of Buies Creek, the bride wore a formal gown of satapeau over bridal taffeta fashioned with a scoop neckline and long sleeves. Mo tifs °f re-embroidered alencon lace beaded with pearls were ap pliqued on the bodice and scat tered over th£ bouffant skirt which extended into a ehanel train. Her veil of silk illusion was attached to a cap of lace and peau lilies edged with seed pearls. She carried a cascade of stephanotis and feathered car nations topped with a white or chid.: Matron of honor was Mrs. Lar ry (turrin, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Gail Lanijr of Lillington, cousin of the bride. Miss Millie Wrenn of Fuqiiav. sister of the groom; Miss": Betty Burkot and Mrs. Tommy Edwards, both of Buies Creek. Junior bridesmaids were Beth; Johnson, Ann Lasater and jenny Lasater, all of Buies Creel and cousins of the bride, and [Marsha Wrenn of Fuquay, sister of the groom. Bejt man was the bridegroom’s father. Ushers were Max Harris of Kinston, uncle of the groom, Simmy Wrenn of Winter Park. Fla.,'. The ■ bride is a 1963 graduate of Campbell Colege. She holds a B. S. degree in primary edu cation. The groom attended Pheiffer College and Campbell and is employed by P. Lorlllard Tobacco Co. They will make their home in Fuquay. Social Register Now Available The North Carolina Social Re gister i» making its app»—n«o in Dunn and other cities of the State this week with presenta tion of the 1963 edition to eligi ble recipients, a number of whom live in Dunn. Patterned after the New York, Philadelphia and Washington Social Registers, the North Caro lina Social Register is the result of two years’ preparation by the North Carolina Social Register Foundation. It is designed to fill a long felt need expressed in many ei ties and towns throughout the State for an adequate social re ference containing the names of the most prominent Tar Heel families. Ustings Include full names and addresses, maiden names of ma trons, private schools and col leges attended, social club affi liations and the names of child ren. Preparatory schools and col leges which minor children at tend are shown, together with given names of married daught ers. Society Uttar Bunnlevel Pair Marry Sunday Miss Dorothy Brock, only dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Moody W Brock of R-l Bunnlevel, and Hugh Bain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bain of R-l Bunnlevel, exchanged their wedding vows Sunday, at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Harmcny Bap tist Church. Rev. Eugene Akins officiated. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Larry Thomas, pianist and Miss Karen Yarbrough, soloist. Mrs. Robert Brock of Dunn, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Lois Bain, Miss Merle Bain, sisters of the bridegroom, Mrs. Fred Brock, sister-in-law of the bride and Miss Linda Whittington, all of Bunnlevel. Little Miss Trenda Campbell of Spring Lake served as flow er girl. Allen Ray Brock of Fay etteville, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Robert Brock of Dunn, brother of the bride, was best man and ushers were Larry Brock and Wayne Brock, also brothers of the bride. The bride and groom are gra duates of Lillington High School., the bride employed at the Lil lington Garment Company and the groom employed by Wom ble & Sons, Inc. of Lillington. For travel the bride wore a white and navy linen suit with white accessories and the orchid ■"frcftn her bouquet. After a wed ding trip to western North Caro lina, they will reside on McNeill St. in Lillington. Bridal Couple Feted At Cookout Mr. and Mrs. Thomas John son of Pour Oaks and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson of Erwin were fiosts at a cookout last week honoring Miss Carolyn Cooke and Ed Ray Caldwell, who were married Saturday. The outdoor affair carried out a rusticity theme using a red checked tablecloth centered by an iron kettle of geraniums. Wood en appointments completed the setting. Charcoaled steakg with all the trimmings was served to the fourteen guests in attendance which included Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Caldwell, parents of the groom. The hosts remembered Miss Cooke with a gift of silver and a corsage composed of kitchen utensils. ATTENDING WORKSHOP Earlene Noles of Dunn is among teachers in elementary schools and others interested in the education of young children now participating at East Caro lina College in a workshop deal ing with Theatre Arts for the Elementary School. Sponsored by the college School of Art, the 10 day special event of the sum er session. June 18-28, deals with puppetry, especially as a visual aid in education in the lower grades. Millard Dawsons Celebrate 20th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Gene McLeod entertained last Saturday even ing at an anniversary party ho noring Mr. and Mrs. Millard Dawson who were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. A wedding cake was us ed at one end of the table. Mrs. Dawson was given a cor sage of pink carnations to com pliment her attire. Mixed nuts ham biscuits, po tatoes chips and dip soft drinks and coffee were served along with the cake after the honorees had cut the first slice.
