p Senator Morgan To Address Patriotic Organization Mrs. Nathan M. Johnson, Sr., and Mrs. J. Lloyd Wade will be hostesses to the members of the Virginia Dare Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists on Wed nesday The meeting will be held at the Woman’s Club at 11:00 am v/ith luncheon following the busi ness session. The Daughters of the American Colonists was organized in Wash ington, D. C„ in 1901 and in North Carolina in 1926. There are now 48 &iate societies with member ship of 17,000. North Carolina has membership of 500. The objects of the society are patriotic, historical and education - Sutton Clan Gathers Sunday Two hundred Sutftons met Oct ober 11 in Goshen Methodist Ch urch for their 10th Reunion com memorating James Sutton 18?8 -1889. The program wap opened by Brentley Sutton who welcomed the clan. Mrs Miriam Strickland gave the devotion which came from psalm 78, “Happiness Within the Home Is One cf the Most Blessed Things” Mrs. W. B. Boyette, Jr„ directed -the group in the sing ing of several hymns with Mrs XV. B. Sutton accompanying her on the organ. Mrs. U M. Ennis memorialized the deeased ond presented gifts 'o the following: Mrs. G. B. Sut ton. oldest woman, 86; John Bryan, oldest man, 83; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Sutton, oldest married cou ple, 55yrs.; and Alan Nathan Sutton youngest child bom June 4, 1964. Fellowsnip was enjoyed throu gnout 'the afternoon with the lun •h spread picnic style on tables under the colorful Oak. trees in the church yard. Officers for the 1964-65 term are president, Earl Sutton, Goldsboro; vice president, Arthur Boyette, Newton Grove; and secretary, Mrs. Anna Sumner, Clinton. The U.tii annual Sutton Reun ion will be held the 2nd Sunday in September 1965. Many national awards are given each yea* through air training Programs. Patriotic education is stressed. Outstanding work is done by members for rehabilitation at veterans’ hospitals. Oak Dale Club Meets The Oak Dale Home Demonsta tions Club met October 15, at 7:30 at the Oak Dale Club Room Mrs. Rob Adams, vice president, presided The devotional thought, “Thank God for Blessings”, was given by Mrs Irene Grimes. Mrs Mack Hudson discussed “Care of Furniture” She also gave some of the highlights of the 4-H Foundations Fund Banquet, and her trip to the United Nations while in New York. During the business session, each member of the club wrote a letter to Ronald Allen in Texas, who was a charter member of Dale 4-H Club Halloween refreshments were served by Mrs. R E Allen and Mrs. U M Ennis to those members pres ent TUXFORD DISCHARGED Mrs. Nancy Tuxford has been discharged from Cape Fear Val ley Hospital in Fayetteville after several days there.
