Couples Class Has Yuletide Party Porter’s Restaurarft was bright ly decorated when the Young Married Couples class of the Shady Grove Church held their annual Yuletide party there Sat urday night. Rev. D. E. Smith, pastor of Stoney Run Church, gave an in teresting discussion on “'ihe Rea] Meaning of Christmas.” On the menu was turkey and dressing with all the trimmings and coffee. Sric Peacock of Benson, were mar led Tuesday in the Marvin Meth xlist Church. The ceremony was Performed by the Rev. J. A. Mc Ftaney. Mr. Wallace gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a gown or peau de soie with seed pearls and a chapel train. Her veil was at tached to a crown of lace and Couple Marries In Bethel Church In a wedding ceremony Satur day afternoon, December 19, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, Mias Brenda Gayle Allen and Jim my Wilson Blackmon exchanged vows. The Rev. Boyd L. Shoot of Sel ma officiated, using the double ring service. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Zeb D. Allen of Four Oaks. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Cartha BlackBlon and the late Henry Blackmon of Four Oaks. Wedding music was presented by Miss Mae Ellen Allen, pianist, and Miss Georgia Parker, vocal ist, of Four Oaks. The couple entered the sancturay together and was unattended. The bride wore a white wool knit dress with beaded neckline and matching white hat. Ushering were Bily Dan Allen, Michael Wilson Allen, Jerry Black mon, and Dennis Blackmon, all of Four Oaks. Following a wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va., the couple will reside in Four Oaks. The bride’s going-away attire consisted of a light blue wool dress with matching pearls and skin accessories. A graduate of Four Oaks High School and East Carolina College, Mrs. Blackmon teaches at Smith field Elementary School. Also a Four Oaks graduate, Mr. Black mon is presently employed with the Jerold Corporation. Pledge Troth Mr. and Mrs. Albert Massengill of Four Oaks announce the mar riage of their daughter, Alberta Sue, to Ray Sherman Massengill of Four Oaks in a home wedding on December 19. A senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mr. Massengill is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Massengill. The bride is employed with North western Mutual Insurance Co. of Raleigh. pearls. She carried a Bible with a bouquet of carnations, beaded poinsettia leaves and an orchid. Sertoma Club Meets For Party The Pour Clefs of Dunn present ed a musical program at 'the Christmas party Tuesday night when the Sertoma Club entertain ed their wives. The setting for the gala event was 'the Woman’s Club. Special guests for the affair were the district governor, Dr. Mil lard Burt, dean of the Methodist College, and Mrs. Burt and wives of the quartet. Santa distributed gifts to the group and the club also remem bered Mrs. Rex Nash, club hos tess, with a gift. TO RALEIGH The Wayne Justesen family will spend Christmas in Raleigh with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Carroll. Girls Have Party, Visit Shut-Ins The Ruth Claes of the First Baptist Church, composed of the 17 year old girls of the church, held their Christmas Party at the home of their teacher, Mrs. W. H. Pope last night. Mrs. Pope’s home was brightly decorated in the Christmas motif Upon arrival, the girls were served cookies, chicken salad puffs, hor d’oeuvres, cheese straws, and Russian Tea. After refreshments, the girls visited Mrs. R. A. Duncan, Sr. at her home and Mrs. Caroline Schwill who is a patient in the local hospital, and presented c program on the Christmas story and sang carols.
