Church Circle Celebrates r Its Third Anniversary ..Sunday, February 16th. marked the third anniversary of the beginning of Circle Number 5 at South Trvon Presbyterian Church. The circle members obser ved their anniversary with a special service at the regular II o'clock worship hour, which was also a tribute and recogni tion of the culmination of Blaek History Week. - . The members of the circle took charge of the entire wor ship service, with the chair man, Mrs. Bobbie F. Harris, leading the worship. Mrs. Ernestine*. Adams present ed the children's message, which is a regular feature of South Tryon’s worship and anticipated by all the children. Mrs. Adams spoke to the children on ‘‘Obedience." The guest speaker for the service was presented to the congre gation by Mrs. Betty F. Als brooks. The speaker was one of South Tryon's own loyal members. Mrs. Thelma N. McKoy. a member of the faculty at West Mecklenburg High School. Her message was a dynamic and fitting tribute to black women, and she chose as her subject. "Black Women of Courage Through the Ages." (iuest cha([ for the service tras the K W. ’Jhliii SOU j ritual Choir of Johnson C. Smith University under the direction of Ms. I.avone Coley. At the close of the service, remarks were made by Mrs. Ann Parker. President of the Women of the Church and by the minister. Rev. A. Rudolph Hendricks. Immediately following the service, the members of Cir cle Numbers 5 hosted a fellow ship hour for the congregation in the church fellowship hall.
