Local Churches Will Observe Easter With Sunrise Services By Clarence Chisholm Post Staff Writer ..The^unday school depart ment of Cannon’s Temple Chureh of God in Christ will present ’’He Lives” at 6:30 PM. Easter Sunday. •-The public is invited to view this great pageant of fashions and short skits, at the church, 312 Cemetary Street. There will also be a Sunrise Service at 6:30 A.M. and regular service at 11 A.M. with Elder E. C. Cannon delivering both sermons. ..The church is also making plans for their Charlotte Dis trict Conference of the Church nf fIn/i in /'U■>!«•< 4**-— April-12 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Please mark these dates on your calendar. CLINTON CHAPEL ..Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church will hold its annual Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. on the front lawn of the church at 1901 Rozzells Ferry Road, with a full choir and complete service. ..This will be a treat and something different from the regular Easter Sunrise ser vice. The 11 a.m. regular scheduled service will be held inside the church with Rev. M.W. Tann, pastor, preach ing. At 3 p.m. Rev. James McCoy of East Stonewall AME Zion Church, 1729 Griers Grove Road, will deliver the sermon ror the fellowship worship of Clinton Chapel and East Stonewall AME Zion Church. This will be delightful Sunday of Worship at Clinton Chapel. Make plans now to attend. WALLS MEMORIAL ..Walls Memorial AME Zion Church. Rev. J.T. White, pas tor, and Simpson-Gillespie United Methodist, Rev. James E. McCallum, pastor will combine their Easter ser vices. The Easter worship at 6:30 a.m., will be held at Simpson-Gillespie. 540 Win ston Street, the speaker will be Rev. J. T. White. Join them and see how the different de nominations worship Christ together on this day. It should be a beautiful service. ..There will be a sunrise ser vlet at the Salem JtUptist Church. 5318 Salem Church Road, Easter Sunday Morning, at 5:30 a.m. following the ser vice, breakfast will be served in the church's education building. Sunday School will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Supt. McCormick in charge. At 11 a.m. Rev. M.H. Bostic Jr., pastor, will deliver a special sermon. The young people of the church will present a spe cial program at 6 p.m. ..Salem Baptist Church in vites all of their friends and anyone looking for a church home to worship with them in these services. The Easter sunrise service will be held at the Greater Gethsemane AME Zion, 531 Campus Street, Rev. George E. Battle Jr., pastor, and breakfast will be served after morning worship at Greenville Tabernacle AME Zion, 1201 Statesville Avenue. TABERNACLE BAPTIST .. Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1135 Redbud, Rev. W. A. Rorie will conduct a sunrise service at 6 a.m. at the church. Break fast will be served. Rev. Rorie will then assume his regular Sunday with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Morning wor shlp at 11 a.m. when He will deliver his special morning message. GREATER BETHEL ..Greater Bethel AME Church at 201 Grandin Road will have guest ministers pre siding at Sunday's services. Rev. James Heath, pastor at St. Mark's Baptist Church on Grandin, will serve as the guest speaker at the 6 a.m. Sunrise Service Sunday Morn ing and Rev. C.A. Ligon will preach the 11 o’clock sermon. ..Rev, Penn, the church's pastor, is recouperating in a local hospital. He became ill during the morning worship service last Sunday. LOGAN CHAPEL ..Fish Supper-The Steward Board of Logan Chapel CME Church, Parkton Road will sponsor a Fish Supper Friday and Saturday. April 11 and 12 from 12 a.m. until, at 12 per plate and all you can eat. The Steward Board will also pro vide a delivery service. The number to call is 536-2309. Rev. J. H. Cotton is the pastor. . .Saint Paul Baptist Church. 1401 North Allen Street, will have Its annual sunrise ser vice. 6:30 a.m. with a break fast to follow. Rev. Drum mond will preside at both the sunrise service and the regu lar 11 a.m. service. GREATER PROVIDENCE ..The Greater Providence Baptist Church of 1829 Cleve land Avenue, Rev. Johnnie W. Wallace Jr., will present an early morning Easter Pro gram at 9:45 a.m. led by the Sunday School department. The pageant will include music by the Sunday School department, skit and a parade of fashion by the young people. MT. MORIAH ..Mt. Moriah Primitive Bap tist Church will have its 4 annual Easter Sunrise service Sunday morning at 6 A.M. ..TheRev. T. W.
