Clan members came from Boston, Philadelphia, Green ville, S. C., Honepath, S. C., Belton, S. C., Atlanta, and Brenson, Toni Ligon, Taffy Norman, Rodney Massey, Raymond Donald, Retha Mae Rouse, Regina Phelps, Johnnie Pruitt, Charles E. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Charlotte in the second floor Council Chamber of Charlotte City Hall, 600 East Trade Street, Charlotte, at. 7:30 P.M., on September 16, 1975, for the purpose of considering a project for which financial assistance is being sought from the Urban Mass Transportation Administration, pursuant to the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended, generally described as follows: A. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: (1) Seek operating assistance funds under section 5 of the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended November 26, 1974, not in excess of that amount already apportioned ($953,499) under section 5 (b) (1) of the aforementioned Act for FY 1976. Operating assistance is sought for the purpose of aiding the City of Charlotte in the preservation and continuation of the existing privately-owned public transportation system by means of lease and management contracts until and after such time as public acquisition, improvement, and expansion of the system is possible through the expenditure of the system is possible through the expenditure of "local share" money and Federal grand funds. (2) The privately-owned public transportation system is the Charlotte City Coach Lines, Incorporated with offices, maintenance, servicing and storage facilities located at 707 Brevard Street, Charlotte, North-Carolina. (3) The total estimated cost of operations for FY 1976 is 91,170,M8. The source of local share money will be the City of Charlotte General Fund. B. RELOCATION: No persons, families or business will be displaced by this project. C. ENVIRONMENT: The proposed project will have no significant environmental impact upon the Charlotte urbanized area in FY 1976. D. COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING : This project is in conformance with comprehensive land use and transportation planning in this area. Comments favorable to and in concurrence with this project have been made by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Planning Commission, the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Charlotte Urbanized Area. Ε. ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED: The proposed project has provision for charging no more than one-half of the peak hour fare to elderly and handicapped persona. II.At the hearing the City of Charlotte will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said project.
