Church JSeivs Briefs Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church Youth Celebrate Halloween The Young People’s Organ ization of the Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church lo cated 700 Sugar Creek Road West had, as one of their activities, a Halloween Cam ivarwTncfi incIudetTtheusuaJ fun and festivities that gener ally accompany the celebra ton. The Young People’s Organ ization is one of the oldest organizations in the Mayfiek Church and its members have enjoyed many recreational and spiritual outings. A few of the enjoyable things that the Young People’s Organization has sponsoret over the years has been Fashion Shows, trip to Lake side, Virginia, two trips to Six Flags over Georgia located in Atlanta, Georgia, trip to Dis ney World located in Orlando, Florida, and many other things of educational, recreat ional, and spiritual natures. me nanoween carnival was held at the Young Adult . Headquarters House located on the same property where the church building is located. The Young People’s Organ ization is made up of members of the Mayfield Church from 14 years through High School. Advisors and Supervisors of the Organization are Mrs. Carol Bridges and Mrs. Frances Hamlin who had great praise for “the fine way in which the boys And girls conducted themselves." The Young People are busy now making plans for an affaire to be held during the Christmas holidays. Rev. H. S. Diggs, pastor of the Mayfield Church, express es joy that the church's budget included activities for all age groups. The Girl Scouts of the May field Memorial Baptist Church observed a Pre-Halloween Carnival at the Scout Hut located on the Church’s pro perty at 700 Sugar Creek Road West. Under the auspicies of the church, and under the direc tion of Mrs. Jessie Hamlin, Joyce Stukes, Brenda Watts, and Rosie Mason, the Girls Scouts have enjoyed this year. Already they have partici pated in all activities of the Hornet’s Nest Council, and the Church has given them a trip to Carrowinds, a cook-out, and Carnival. Nazareth Primitive Baptist Church, Dr. J. A. Frieson, minister will be celebrating their Annual Homecoming Services beginning with the 11 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 16,) morn ing worship service. The concluding service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Odell Beasley of Wilson Heights Church of God. The public is invited to attend. New Emmanuel New Emmanuel Congrega tional United Church of Christ will celebrate its 75th anniver sary Sunday, November 16. -—N—-C-Calhoun wjll preach the morning sermon and the Rev. Dr. M. Bostic of Salem Baptist Church will be the guest minister at the 2:30 p.m. worship service. Salem will furnish the music for the afternoon service. On Sunday, November 23, Dr. L. D. Parker will preach at the 2:30 p.m. worship ser vice. His St. Luke Baptist Church choirs will accompany him. Dr. Calhoun invites the pub lic to attend services at New Emmanuel during the cele bration. China Grove Rev. M. L. Houston, pastor or CHTnS~Gf0Ve~AM£-Ziorr Church, 9401 Old Pineville Road, announces that a Con secration Service will be held at his church on Sunday, Nov ember 16 for newly appointed deaconesses. The public is invited to attend. Services will begin at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Ambassadors For Christ The first annual revival ser vice of the Ambassadors For Christ Baptist Church, 2919 W. Trade St. will begin Sunday afternoon at 6:30 o'clock and end Friday night with the 7:30 worship services. * Rev. James A. Frieson, pas tor of Nazareth Primitive Baptist Church will led the opening service. Rev. Van W. Jackson Sr., founder and pas tor of the church, announces that Rev. Wilson Mitchell, Rev. R A. Macon, Rev. H. E Johnson, Rev. Max B McAlwin and Rev. Mayhew H. Bostic will appear during the week. The pastor of Chappell Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Mitchell will preach Monday night, starting at 7:30 o’clock. Rev. Macon will be the speaker Tuesday night. He is the pastor at Progressive Baptist Church. The revival leader for Wednesday night's servicerwill be Rev. Johnson, pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Rev. McAlwin will appear Thursday night. He is the pas tor at Mount divert Baptist Church in Huntersville and Rev. Bostic, pastor at Salem Baptist Church, will close the services Friday night. Rev. Jackson invites the public to "come and hear all six of these great gospel preachers.” Memorial United Attorney Allie Latimore Weeden of Washington, D.
