Jimmy Smith Releases Second Album For Mercury Records Jimmy Smith, internation ally known as the world’s greatest jazz organist, an nounced “It’s Necessary’’ as his second album for Mercury Records. Recorded live at Jimmy Smith’s Supper Club July 6 and 7, the album features Teddy Edwards and Harold Land on tenor saxaphones in addition to other outstanding musical giants. The legend and music of Jimmy Smith covers a couple of decades during which time he has won just about every music poll and award avail able-J»ence the title ‘the wor old's greatest jazz organist’’. Smith’s fame and popularity was further heightened over the years with his outstanding recordings of “The Sermon,” "Walk On The Wild Side,” "Organ Grinders Swing,” “Respect," and so many more that made him one of the top selling album artists, in addi tion to his popularizing the Hammond electric organ as a musical voice of authority. WBTV To Air “Flying Sorcerer” "Flying Sorcerer," a film from England that recounts the adventures of a young boy • and his uncle as they travel to a different century via a time machine, will be rebroadcast Saturday, July 9 at 1 p.m. on "The CBS Children's Film Festival" on WBTV. Channel 3. The script by Leo Maguire and Harry Booth is based on an original story by Hazel Swift. It begins in the 20<en lury laboratory of Uncle Char lie, whose secret and imper I ^ feet invention, a time ma chine, is accidentally activat ed and transports nephew Da vid back into the Middle Ages. Outside a medieval castle, David meets its Lady Eleanor, whose father is off on the Crusades, and her slightly bumbling sorcerer, named As trolabe, who are being terro rized by Dormantis, the local fire-breathing dragon. David and his new "old" friends tumble between the two cen turies, pursued by Dormantis, I before their lives are straight ened out.
