Album Release Atlantic Wraps Up Year-End A Al 1! - " r ui tus ueuui recording un der his own name, award-wir ing compaser-producer-writ er-director-actor Joe Brooks gathered together a group of top singers and musicians to present a very personal col lection of his music played under his direction. 'C'EST CHIC" is the second album by the RAB-pop-disco chart-top ping group Chic; written, pro duced, and arranged by Bern ard Edwards and Nile Rodg ers, and including the across the-board hit single "LE FREAK." Emerson Lake & Palmer's "LOVE BEACH" cape a year of touring and recording by the super trio; the album is their ninth over all, and first full studio LP of group collaborations since 1973 s "BRAIN SALAD SUR GERY." Just six months after the release of their highly successful "POWERAGE," no-holds-barred rockers AC DC deliver their long-awaited live album "IF YOU WANT BLOOD-YOU'VE GOT IT," recorded during their 1978 World Tour. "PATRICK ADAMS PRE SENTS PHREEK" is the cre ation of disco producer-arran ger-songscribe-musician Pat rick Adams, who has also been responsible for top-selling dia co records by Cloud Nine, Musique, and the Universal Robot Band. Vincent Mont ana's second LP under the artist name Montana "I LOVE MUSIC" displays his consist ently elegant and inventive style in a set ranging from hard-hitting disco to free blowing big band jazz. Jake Blues (John Belushi) and El wood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) are the Blues Brothers whose aeoui LP "BRIEFCASE FULL OF L A.'8 Universal Amphitheatre backed by a stellar band including Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, and Tom Scott. Joy Fleming's "THE FINAL THING,'' produced by Pete Bellotte, arranged by Sylvester Levay, and backed by the Munich Machine rhy thm section, has already esta blished this German siiigiiig talent as a European disco star. . On the Cotillion label is "LONG STROKE," the debut LP from Detroit-based black rockers the ADC Band, whose title cut single is jumping up the RAB and pop charts. "INDECENT EXPOSURE SOME OF THE BEST OF GEORGE CARLIN" is a re trospective collection repre senting 5 of tW« Little David LP's by the "Alternative comedian" who has received RIAA gold LP's for "FM & AM," "CLASS CLOWN,·' "OCCUPATION: TOOLE," and "TOLEDO WINDOW BOX." Reggae master Peter Tosh, the first outside artist signed to Rolling Stones Rec ords, offers his debut LP for the label "BUSH DOCTOR" including his hit single duet with Mick Jagger "DON'T LOOK BACK." On the Westbound label, veteran Detroit vocal group, the Fantastic Four, bounce back with the second LP under the Westbound-Atlantic world "B.Y.O.F. (BRING YOUR~ OWN FUNK)," a set brim ming with their distinctive harmony style. In addition to tnese new releases, a numœr of recently issued LP's are continuing to scale the national trade charts. Firefall's "ELAN," containing the hit single "STRANGE WAY," and Yes' "TORMATO" are both near ing RIAA platinum certifica tion; while albums by the Brides of Funkenstein, Cer rone, Faze-O, Bryan terry, Fotomaker, Lindisfarne, Her bie Mann, ahd the Tempta tions are enjoying heavy sales ^ and radio attention. The first LP's on the Scotti Brothers Records latx»l· by Le if Garrett ("FEEL THE NEED") and John Paul Young CLOVE IS IN THE AIR") are both off to strong starts. Γ nucuiiiv nouius IUUt wrap ped up its year-end album schedule, it has been announ ced by Senior Vice President General Manager Dave Glew, This includes the release of a dozen new LP's between the second week of November and the end of the year. Included— in the release are label debuts by the Joe Brooks group, Phreek, the Blues Brothers, Joy Fleming, the ADC band, and Peter Toeh, plus new albums from Chic, Emerson Lake k Palmer, AC-DC, Mon tana, and the Fantastic Four, plus a "best of" anthology from George Carlin. The rec ordings represent releases from the Atlantic Cotillion, little David, and Westbound labels (all distributed by the Atlantic-ATCO organization).
