JUhLNN Y FRANKLIN ALEXANDER ^..,The former Miss Geneva Hudson fpss Geneva Hudson Is Bride Of Johnny Alexander miss Geneva nuason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow fludson of 3901 Bardot Dr., and Johnny Franklin Alexander, son of Mary Lou Alexander of Huntersville and Sam Whitley of Davidson, were united in Holy Matrimony recently at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Drummond officiating. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Lonnie Miller was the organist; soloists were Scotty Hendricks, Miss Martha Moore and Mrs. Naomi Worthy and Deloris Miller. The bride’s gown was made of white satin with laced bodice and sleeves and matching mid-length veil. Her bouquet was made up of pale white orchids and car nations. Matron of honor was Mrs. Lula Mae Dreher. Maids of honor were Misses Lillie Mae Hudson, Polly Hudson (sisters of the bride) and Barbara Alexander (bridegroom's rister); Mrs. Lorraine Mc Cleaye, Leatha Winchester • nd Sadie Sturdivant, (sillers Of the bride). They wore pink satin dresses. Junior bridesmaids were Mia#( Katrina Tonya Starnes and Yolanda Michele Starnes who also wore pink satin Presses. Roschelle Cun ningham, clad in a white satin dress, was the flower girl. The bpdegc<x>m’s best man was /Sohn BuVie. Russell Whitley, Sammy Whitley, Ihomas Dreher, Henry Harris, James Winchester, Proctor Roddy and Larry Cunningham served as ushers. Both the bride’s mother and I he bridegroom's mother wore wink satin dresses with matching accessories. A reception followed at the Holiday Inn-North on Tryon Street After the reception a party was given from 9 p.m. -1 am. The bride is a graduate of Second Ward High School and Central Piedmont Community uouege. ane is employed oy Charlotte Memorial Hospital. Washington Height Garden Club Meeting The Washington Height Garden Club discussed plans for a flower workshop and a newly organized junior club to the garden council at their were present at the meeting held in the home of Mrs. Edena Williams are : Lois Scott, president; Gertrude Williams, Williet Patterson, Essie Stovall, Cora Gaithe, Lillie Mae Carter, Pearl Phil lips, Carrie Pitts, Edena Wil liams, Geniva Sizermore and Ethel Choate. Clifford,' pro fessor of sociology ana antnro pology at NCSU, and Miss L Beth Dixon, research assist ant, have found increasing ratios of nonwhite to white mortality rates for many causes of death throughout the United States.In North Carol ina the siuay snows the anter ential to be greater than in the country as a whole. The statistical report was one in a series of population studies funded through the N.C. Agricultural Experiment Station •Mortality Declines 'Mortality has declined in (the United States and in North ---r* groups."
