Rev. Jeremiah Robinson, pastor of First Mayfield, will deliver the message next Sunday at 11 a.m. At 2:30 p.m. Rev. Davi&, pastor of Mt. Moriah Bap tist Church in Mt. Holly will deliver the opening address of the revival. Rev. Max B. Mcllwain, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church will be the speaker during the week of revival. At the closing service Sunday, September 28, at 11 a.m., Rev. R. W. Ram sey will speak. Dinner will be served following the sermon. The public is in vited to serve in these spiritual services. The Youth Missionaries of First Mayfield are planning a Bake Sale Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy those homemade cakes and cookies. ST. LUKE BAPTIST Saint Luke Baptist Church, 1109 Roddey AVe., will hold their First Home coming Day Sunday, Sep tember 28, at 3 p.m. One of the sons of St. Luke, Rev. Vernon Worthy, now pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gastonia will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served fol lowing the service. Revival services will begin Sunday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. until October 3 at 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker for the week will be Rev. Raymond L. CALVARY Revival at First Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 209 W. 28th St., is now underway. It began Mon day, September 15, and will end Friday, September 19. Speaker for these uplift ing events is Rev. A. B. Sutton Sr. He is the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. The public is invited. Many churches and various choirs have been invited to participate also. The church truly feels that this is the time for souls to be revived and that it is time to pray for the strength to carry out God’s work. Rev. Marion Clowney is the pastor of First Mt. Calvary. EAST STONEWALL Youth In Bloom, a cul tural enrichment program, sponsored by the Pastor’s Aid Club of East Stonewall AME Zion Church, was a stimulating success. More than 200 people attended the program which fea tured an oratorical con test. Keith Chisholm won the title of “Young Orationist” 1980-81, Linda Shropshire was first runner-up and Raini Ross was second runner-up. The three other contestants, Ricky Beatty, Vivian Cherry and Ro derick Ross made great challenges. The judges were Carolyn Means, Bob Walton, and Gerald Blakeney. Next year, according to coor dinator Rena Blake the Oratorical Contest will feature students in grades 6 through 8. GREATER BETHEL The Sarah Allen Mission I ary Circle of Greater Bethel AME Church, 201 Grandin Rd., will sponsor a September Health Fair September 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This group advocates that it is better to know now than later and “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Free services provided by the missionary circle include blood pressure, sickle cell, diabetic, dental, speech and hearing, T.B. and hemoglobin screening. Children from age two months to six years will be given free, complete phy sical examinations also. There will be a nutritional display and a family plan ning display as well. Immunizations will be given but you must have a present record of anj past immunizations to tx eligible. There will also be shor conferences about Social Security, the Food Stamj Program, Medicare, Me dicaid, a CPR demonstra tion and a self-defense demonstration. Rev. Bobby Morgan at Bethlehem Center Sun day, September 21, at 4 p.m. to raise money for a new half-way house. According to Rev. Mor gan the old half-way house has been closed and do nations will be taken at the service to insure a home for men getting out of 1 prison. “This house will aid men getting out of prison with no families and no whereto go," Rev. Morgan stated. Rev. Morgan is now incaricerated at Camp Green. There, he became a minister three years ago and is now the camp minister. He is allowed to preach at various func tions and is released for work duty five days a week; and is allowed to go home each weekend._ S.
