Conner stated shortly after the incidence occurred. "At no time was there danger of an explo sion." The fire department may have had other thoughts. The building was evacuat ed as men began to repair the damaged pipe line. “You’d better move away If this building blows..." a fireman gasped. And that’s all this reporter had to hear to join the pack scurrying to Intended safety. “It was a wise move for the fire department to evacuate," Conner sug gested. “They were being over-safe, but actually there are more instances of electricution than deaths due to natural gas fire explosions. ,v~...
