The Truth Versus Minister Louis Farrakf'an I
When do wards become
threatening? They can only
become threatening when
they bring about an activi
ty. Words in and of 'them
selves are worth notidig^ It
is when the word is made
manifest that something or
.someone is or be
7 threatened. So what has
Minister Louis Farrakhan
done that is so threatening
Z- to the powers of the world
E specifically the Jews and
Z the American govern
ment? It appears that the
E mere fact that he is speak
E tag on many issues that the
Z" government does not want
Z. to talk about makes him
Z? controversial. On top of
E that, he speaks with an
** authority unheard of
Z among black leaders in
Z, America with the notable
Z exceptions of Marcus
E Garvey, Noble Drew All,
<Z‘ Malcolm X and the Ho
SZ norable Elijah Muham
E mad, Farrakhan's teacher.
E What must also bef very
— seriously considered in the
ZZcourse of this article and
'“.definitely in the mind of the
r—reader is the fact that
P-thls man known as
p; Farrakhan has been pull
p~ tag in people, particularly
j~ black people, by the tens of
u thousands to come and
w hear him speak. Minister
Louis Farrakhan Muham
mad Is the national spokes
, man for the Honorable
^Elijah Muhammad and the
-- Nation of Islam. Minister
E Farrakhan has been work
Z tag in the black community
p-for over SO year*. In fact,
Z the largest gathering of
E black people ever in the
E history of America, ap
k— proximately 70,000 to
E 75,000, came to Randall’s
E Island, NY, to hear him
E speak at a Black Family
Z Day celebration in 1974.
E So he is, without a doubt,
tdm V:
ww
a very well known man.
The press has now made it
appear as though he Just
came on the scene. As
Farrakhan mentioned in
New York City, the press is
behaving just like Colum
bus in their discovery of
something or someone that
had been there all along.
Now what is it that is so
controversial about
Farrakhan? This question
must be asked because
whether you are for or
against Farrakhan, he has
indeed become the litmus
test for all black leaders
and indeed black people as
to whose side you are on.
What are the major posi
tions that Farrakhan is
taking? Let us examine Us
positions and do so as
unemotionally as possible.
He believes that the
blade people of America,
90-40 million by his esti
mates, are the only people
that fulfill the scriptural
references given to the so
called “chosen nation of
God” (Gen. 15:13-15) who
are called Israel in the Old
Testament. Now, this
appears to be an extremely
hot issue in some circles.
Understand^ so. However,
this issue should not af
fect, for the most part,
anyone who is not a h*
Sever in the Bible or other
scriptures. On the other
hand, if one is a believer in
God, his prophets and Us
scriptures, then you must
ask yourself is he right or
is he wrong? If you dis
agree with him, and you
are entitled to do so, can be
Louis Ftrrakian
be proved wrong? Although
there are 800,000 Jews who
agree with him in his say
ing that the nation of
Israel in the Middle East is
not the fulfillment of the
aforementioned prophecy,
many others, the Zionists
in particular, have a pro
blem with this position.
They have a problem with
this since they have de
clared to the world for
some time now that they
are that chosen nation re
ferred to in the scripture as
the seed of Abraham. Well,
the solution to thin contro
versy is quite simple. Just
find out who Bts the de
scription in the prophecy
and fulfills all of the re
quirements as the scrip
tures state. This is a Job for
the scholars of religion, not
for a writer like myself.
In any case, a major
question that must be
asked is why haven’t they *,
accused him of lying?.!
have never once heard or
read where (he govern
ment or its machinery has
accused Farrakhan, his
teacher, the Honorable
Elijah Muhammad or .
even his predecessor,
Malcom X of telling lies. In
fact, Elijah Muhammad
has stated publicly many
times that if you find him
telling a lie that he will pay
you $100 to $10,000 out of Us
brother’s vest pocket and
will pay with his life for
lying. His student has
made the same bold state
ment. Now, why haven’t
their critics challenged
them instead of Just
making the many accusa
tions that they have made.
He has been called a racist,
a Hitler, a bigot, a can
man, devisive and he’s
even been called a devil.
Let us see if the authori
ties and their agents in the
press are justified in their
view of him.
Farrakhan and his teach
er, the Honorable F.Hj»h
Muhammad teach that the
white man is the devil of
your scriptures. Now a lot
of people would definitely
call that a racist or “hate”
teaching but the July 15,
1965 issue of U.S. News ft
World Report has a cover
story entitled, “How The
World Views America.” On
this cover, they have a
picture of Unde Sam with
one side of his face shown
as a benevolent Caucasian
and on the other aide ha is
shown as a red devil with
tail and all. Now apparent
ly, the government, the
press, the learned and the
unlearned maaiee to Ame
rica, are examining this
view of America by a large '
portion of the world. Many
writer* and social sden-t'
tists are now 'examining
this defect in the history of
Caucasian people. Now
what must be noted hero -
that in tbe course of Ms
teaching tM* vtew, he has
never advocated killing
wrules, rooomg wmtes,
breaking their laws with
out Just cause, or any other
known social evil. Although
many Jewe are calling,
publicly, for his death.
There are a great many
other beliefs that Minister
Farrakhan and those who
support him have. Moat of
them are mentioned |n the
Muslim program as pre
sented by the Honorable'
Eli jib Muhammad. How-y
ever, one major point that
Farrakhaa addresses is
that black people need to
unite and do something for
themselves. He says that
the government of America
cannot take care of blsck I
people even if they were
inclined to do so because of
their economic condition.
In view of the political end
economic realities in
America, this issue must
be addressed. The conser
vative turn in the govern
ment and their priorities
make it necessary for
blacks in America to do
something of this nature.
To this end, Farrakhan has
gotten support from a
number of very well known
manufacturers.
If the government won’t
- allow blacks the oppor
tunity to be free here in
America, should we, as
Farrakhan also suggests,
separate from them?
