(center) at last year's Ol- Model Bear^ competition In New York City. iGritanoLaunches Model Search Cheerleaders across North Carolina have an opportunity to compete for trophies and prizes In the "Carolina Spirit State Championship" that will be held at the Charlotte Latin School in Matthews, NC on February 13,1988. The competition will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The competition will be two fold. Cheerleaders will compete for trophies based upon their cheering ability In the perfor mance of one cheer of their choice. Each squad can also compete for prizes by conduct ing a fundraising event In ad vance of the competition. Prizes will be awarded to squad mem bers based on the amount of Charlotte Parks AndJaycees Sponsors Pageant The Charlotte Parks and Rec reation Department and Metro- llna Jaycees announces their 1988 Junior Miss Competition. They are looking for 1988 Junior Miss contestants. If you are a Junior girl In a Charlotte- Mecklenburg high school you are eligible to compete in the Junior Miss Scholarship Pro- g ram. The competition will be eld March 12, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orady Cole Center. It's that ability to express her individual ity, spirit and personality through fashion that will make her a Oltano girl."
