Steele Bible Class will begin Its 41st year of service to the re- hglous community on October 'The class was organized by the late Dr. A O. Steele, chair man of the Department of Rellg- 16us Education at Johnson C. ^mlth University. ;The purpose of the class Is to pirovlde an opportunity for Sun day School teachers and super intendents to gain a deeper and clearer Insight Into the Sunday School Lesson In order to per- li>rm their duty with personal confidence and efficiency. President Robert Albright has ipade this class an important part of the University's Out reach Program. ■'The class will meet each Tues- c^ay night at 8 p.m. In room 103, ^clal science room, McCrorey Hall at JCSU. BAPTIST ASSOCIATION ■The Youth Department of the ijlecklenburg General Baptist Association will hold the annual Contest and Fashion Show on Saturday, October 1, In Garlnger High School Auditorium at 4 pm "Eveiyone is Invited to come out and see the 'Teeny Bopper" model their latest back to school fashions. Bailey, nationally known preacher and pastor from Dallas, Texas, will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Roy An derson, Jr., will be the guest sol oist. The banquet Is open to the general public. Daniel Thrower, William Wor- sley and many others will be featured. SOUTH TRYON The Gospel Choir of South Tryon Presbyterian Church, 2516 S. Tryon Street, will cele brate Its first anniversary on Sunday, October 2, at 3 p.m. You are invited to come out and bring a friend to hear this choir and other choirs. Rev. James H. Logan, Jr., Is the pastor and Ulysses Isaac Is president of the gospel choir. NEW ST. JOHN The theme for Sunday morn ing service will be "Love In Ac tion." At 4 p.m. the Charlotte Com munity Choir will present a con cert. Other choirs will also ap pear on this program. TEMPLE The Voices of Elks Choir will celebrate its fourth anniversary on Sunday, September 25 at Temple Baptist Church, 2916 Tuckaseegee Road. 3 p.m. Dr. A O. Stede Bible Class, founder The choir members are active In Pisgah Lodge #266, Pisgah Temple #28 and Isabelle Hyer Temple 31279 of the Improved, benevolent protective order of Elks of the World. Mr. William Royster is the ex alted Ruler. Lem Long, Jr., is the state president of the Elk's or ganization. GREENVILLE MEMORIAL "Come On Everybody, Let Us Praise God" is the theme for the 7th Annual Concert of the Greenville Memorial Mass Choir. The concert wUl be held on Sunday, October 9 at 6 p.m. at the Greenville Memorial AME Zion Church, 6116 Montleth Drive. The choir Is under the di rection of Mrs. Joyce Johnson. Rev. A. C. Kunnlcutt is the pas tor. SILVER MOUNT Rev. William Lee, Jr., pastor of Silver Mount Baptist Church, will host an "Old Fashion Croeiker Fish Cook-Out" on Sat urday, Oct 1, 12 noon until 5 p.m., at his home 6025 Carver Blvd. In the Rockwell Park (Deii- ta Section). The menu will consist of croaker fish, baked beans, cole slaw, hot dogs, old-fashion cracker barrel lemonade, cold drinks, watermelons, knlck knacks and homemade cakes and pies. All proceeds will go toward "For The Cause Of A Child Pro ject 88," a benefit which will aid more than 500 youth in low- income communities In Char lotte and Mecklenburg County. Mr. R. T.
