The Perfect NailJob By A.C. TURNER Post Staff Writer You spend mounds of money to fix your hair. Next you buy the hottest outfit you can find. You look outstanding, except for your chewed-olT finger nails. Daisy Shipp believes It Is a sin to neglect your nails. Shipp owns Nall-E-Perfect, a salon that Is dedicated to creating the best looking nails that a person can wish for. "1 feel there was a serious need for good nail care In Char- lotte.Women In other states are more conscious of their nails, but Charlotte women are coming around," Shipp said. Shipp Is a registered nurse. She feels that her nursing back ground gives her an edge In the nail care business. "1 just burned out of nursing. Since 1 have a nursing back ground I can teU my clients what Is healthy and safe for their nails," she said. She went to cosmetology school for manicuring before she left nursing. "I wanted to be In charge of my business. It's hard to get Into a beauty salon because most salons want 50% and do not use top quality prod ucts," Shipp said. Using superior products Is Im portant to Shipp. The manicures and petlcures are designed to re lax the customer and to relieve stress. In addition to professional care of the feet, the petlcures In clude a lower leg massage that Is designed to release tension. Senior citizens get a discount on petlcures and special treat ment to smooth and soften cal luses. "I don't remove them but I can soften them to the point that they don't hurt as much," Shipp said. Nall-E-Perfect also offers a va riety of nail Jewelry and foot rings. There are pierced nails that hold ornaments. One piece of jewelry that Is sure to be an eye catcher Is a ring connected to a chain that goes the length of the finger to the nail and has a small attractive stone pierced Into the nail. Gold nails or even rhine stones sprinkled onto the nail are available to wake-up plain nails. Another popular way to design nails Is with freehand art. Prac tically any design can be painted onto the nail. Anything from flowers to stars. For the person who enjoys the Christmas season, festive sea sonal decals are specialties of Nall-E-Perfect. Another special around for the Christmas season Is a ten percent discount on natural bonding. This Is Ideal for people who are allergic to acrylic. This method can be used to extend the nail. There Is no messy glue In volved In this process. "Glue Is detrimental to the nat ural nail. Eventually It makes a nail look bad," Shipp said. Shipp also specializes In free sculpting. She can basically create a new nail with this method of nail repair. The nail looks and feels like a natural nail. "NaUs have to be treated and maintained properly. I put my heart and soul Into what I do. I make sure customers are satis fied," she said. In the near future Nall-E- Perfect will add facial make overs, and a boutique to their list of expertise.
