Miniature house may
build funds for needy
As a fund-raising project to benefit needy children in this area, the
Brunswick County Home Builders Association has donated a miniature
house to Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 939 and the Bruns
wick County Airport to auction. All proceeds will be donated to local chil
dren who need food, clothes and toys for the holidays.
The auction is being held in conjunction with the "See What Santa Sees"
flights. For a fee of $15, a pilot will take a child aloft to see what Santa
will see as he flies over the child’s house. All of the proceeds from these
flights will be donated to needy children.
The miniature house will be auctioned at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 20, at
the Brunswick County Airport. Airport commissioners say they hope to
generate bids of up to $300. The playhouse will be delivered to the highest
bidder by December 25.
Members of the public are invited to stop by the airport and see the mini
ature house. Some may have already seen it in the Oak Island Christmas
By-the-Sea parade. - „
The house was built by Ted S. Wood, Jr., William Rainwater and Jay
Astoske. Materials were donated by Southport Pelican Building Center.
