Finch and Roy Cox have purchased the Thomas ville Realty and Insurance Company of Thomasville from Mr. A. H. Ragan, T. E. Jennings and others. Mr. Cox will have the management of the company. Mr. W. E. Chandler, formerly of Winston-Salem, but later a resident of Nor folk, Va.f the brother of J. M. Chandler, f New Hope Academy, died last Fri day and was buried Sunday. He was one more victim of "T. B." Mr. J. M. Stafford, of New Hope Academy, has been very ill for some time. Mr. T. M. Crowson, of Trinity Route 1, returned home Tuesday after attend ing court the first of the week. Mr. T. S. Bouldin, of Trinity Route 1, was in Ashoboro Tuesday on busi ness. Mr. W. A. Lovett, who has been in Collector A. D. Watts office in States "ville for the past year, has been trans ferred to Asheboro. Mr. Watts' office in Statesville has been moved to Ral igh and in the change Mr. Lovett has fceen assigned to field internal revenue "work for Randolph and Montgomery counties. Mr. Lovett has been at Ral eigh for the past month assisting in turning over the income tax depart ment of the Statssville office to Col lector Bailey. Miss Lela Hayworth left Monday for Mt. Airy, where she will teach in the Shaded school. Mr. W. H. Watkins and granddaugh ter, Miss Sarah Cole, of Ramseur, were visitors in Asheboro yesterday. Miss Pansy Wimbish, of Winston Salem, is the guest of Miss Blanche Cox. Mr. H. C. Chisholm who left Randolph county in April and went to Carthage, has purchased the John Stout place in .Ramseur and will move his family there the first of November. Mr. Chis holm has been engaged in brick making at Carthage. He was in Asheboro yes terday, i Mr. John Stout, oi Kamseur, was a lusiness visitor in Asheboro yesterday Thomas Brothers sold their land known as the balance of the Fisher place on Tuesday of this week at three o'clock. The land was sold in separate lots and then sold as a whole. Mr. John Jackson bought and paid $7,500, one fourth of it down. Mrs. Claude Coltrane, of High Point Houte 3, visited relatives in Asheboro Mr. D. S. Cummings, the owner of last week the High Point Overall factory, was seized by a number of union picketers last Tuesday and was slightly injured. Mr. Monroe Cox, of Grant township, -was in town Tuesday and gave The Courier a pleasant call. Mr. Cox says that a new school is being built at Fair -Grove in his township which replaces the old one which was built 1 years ago. Mr. Cox began his education in this old school house and Mrs. Jennie Hancock, of Asheboro, was his first teacher. He says that he sat on her lap and learned his A B C's. Mr. C. E. Stuart, of Why Not, was in Asheboro Tuesday on business. Mr. Dewey Bulla, of Trinity Route 1, was in Asheboro Thursday on busi ness.
