Moser stood near the punch bowl and di rected tha guests to the opposite side of the garden where assorted sand wiches and tea were served by Mrs. J. T. Lewallen, Mrs. A. R. Birkhead, Mrs. Sam - Story and Misses Mittie Lovett and Nancy Browning. The party was unusual in its beauty and effectiveness and the many guests in their farewells to Mrs. W. K Coffin,. who stood at the north entrance by which they departed, spoke of the beautiful setting and of the popular ity and attractiveness of the honorees. Willis) The writer attended a dinner in honor of the 92nd birthday of Mr. T. W. Andrews, near Asheboro Monday. It was a very pleasant occasion By a vote of about four to one the recent general conference of the M. th, voted in favor of E. Church. South union with the M. E. Church. The. ouestion now goes to the annual con- ferenees, when a vote of three-fourths of all the members, clerical and lay, will be necessary to a final decision.
