T. THUMB WEDDING DRAWS BIG CROWD A largo and responsive audience greeted the little folks taking part in the Tom Thumb Wedding, which event occurred at the Brevard high school auditorium Thursday night ci last week, sponsored by the Eastern Star. Little MarguerHe Scruggs, as bride, Ned Whitnrre, as groom, and Kip West, as minister, captivated the audience with their originality and case with which they portrayed their parts in the miniature wedding. The little boys as ushers and 25 or more other children making up the wedding party all performed well their different roie5- in characteristic childlike fashion. The little folks at tired in evening dress costume added much to the enjoyment of the occa sion. . Mis.'. BLANCHE RARRUS CIRCLE 1HAS MEETING TUESDAY The Blanche Barrus circle met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Miss Annie Shipman, the meeting being held one week earlier on ac count of itho nearness to the Christmas holidays on the usual date. A chapter in the study book “Lady Fourth Daughter of China” was interestingly discussed by Mrs. Ralph Ramsey. Adding to the en joyment of the program was a ! Christmas carol sung by Mrs. Paul | Hartsell. The meeting was in charge of the circle chairman, Mrs. Roy j Long, who also loci the devotionals. Refreshments were served by the hostess. MEN’S CLASS ENTERTAINS LADIES' WESLEY CLASS ! One of the most enjoyable social functions said to have been held at the Methodist church in some time was that of Tuesday night, when members of the Men’s Bible class 'entertained the Daughters of Wesley (class of the Sunday school with a chicken dinner. j Long tables were spread in the church dining room, where the de licious repast was served. The menu, prepared and served entirely by the men, consisted of chicken fricassee, mashed potdtoe.\i \ cran berry sauce, celery, cabbage and carrot salud coffee and bread. About GO men and women of the two classes and a few visiting friends were present to enjoy the occasion. The pastor Rev. J. H. West was master of ceremonies, other men and women making short talks, all in a spirit of jovial friendliness and! good-will. Prior to the social feature, the! Wesley class met in the ladies’ par lor for the regular monthly business meeting, presided over by the presi dent, Mrs. E. S. English, and at tended by 35 or 40 members of the class and visitors. I LIVINGSTON CIRCLE ELECTS NEW OFFICERS i New officers for the ensuing year were elected at the regular meeting of the Livingston circle held Tues day afternoon at the home of Mrs. John Ashworth. I Following are the new officers: Chairman, Mrs. A. M. Case; co chairman, Mrs. H. E. Erwin; sec retary. Mrs. John Ashworth; treas urer, Mrs. W. S. Price. Devotionals and a reading were given by Miss Louise Asihworth, and scripture reading was by Mrs. Price, Mrs. Cunningham and Mrs. Sherrill. G. A'S IN INTERESTING MEETING WEDNESDAY The intermediate G. A. met with Clara Allison at the home of Mrs. Hugh Hollifield on November 29th. Elizabeth Price presided over a short business session, after which he conducted a program on the topic, "I Am Thine.” Others taking •inrt on the program were Mary Hamrick, Helen Henderson, ClarB \llison, Marchia Hay Snelson, Mary \iken, Catherine Fulton. During an nen discussion each girl made a short talk on "Why I am thankful.” At the close of the meeting the hostess served delicious refresh ments to about 16 members. On last Wednesday night the G. A’s conducted a program, “The Star for All,” at the prayer meet ng service at the Baptist church, in observance of the week of pray r for foreign missions. Miss Launa Clayton, who has been employed here with the liquidating agent of the former Brevard Bank ing company, has been transferred to Rutherfordton bank: liquidating agency. Mr. and Mrs. Henry West and children of Greenville were Sunday guests of Rev. J. H. West and fami ly. D. H. Webb, of Asheville, is visit ing his son, E. H, Webb, and Mrs Webb, and attending court here this week Mr. and Mrs. T. C Galloway, hpent Tuesday in Asheville, where Mr. Galloway attended court. Eugene Southern of the Cherry field section is reported very ill at his home. Mrs. L M, Hart returned home the first of the week after spending two weeks visiting her daughter, Miss Inez Hart in Greenville, S. C. She was accompanied home by Mrs. Jerry Jerome, who spent the week end in Greenville with her mother and v&ter, and Mr. Jerome who drove down on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Fullbright moved last week to the Boylston section, where they will make their home. Vernon and Earl Fullbright and four sisters have mevsd into the Fickelsimer apartment on News Ar cade, which they are occupying for the winter. Mrs. M. M.
