Rev. Hutchinson Elected As A Delegate To Jurisdictional .. Conference Of Methodists The Rev. Orion N. Hutchin son, Jr* Minister of Brevard’s - . First United Methodist Church, .% ns ekcted a Delegate to the ^ Southeastern Jurisdictional Con ference of the United Metho .• diet Church. This action was taken by members of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference h of the United Methodist Church V. in their balloting on last Sat ■- arday night Mr. Hutchinson becomes part of a delegation of 15 min isters and 15 laymen who join those elected delegates to the General Conference of the United Methodist Church to form the total delegation to the Jurisdictional Conference. The Jurisdictional Confer ence will meet at Lake Juna luska on July 11th • 16th, 1972. This Conference which meets every four years en velopes program priorities and elects leadership, including Bishops, for the southeastern states. Election of the dele gates who represent Conferen ces is done by balloting with out nomination, continued un til a person or persons ob tains a majority vote. Mr. Hutchinson was appoint ed at the Annual Conference session to First Church, Bre vard, for his second year. He is Chairman of the Board of Christian Social Concerns of the Conference and Vice-Chair man of the Quadrennial Em phasis Committee. Steve Almond Awarded Pharmacy Degree, Accepts Job On Faculty STEVE ALMOND Steve Newell Almond grad uated from the School of Phar macy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on May 30th. He received the Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Almond is married to the former Miss Janice Rahn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Her mon Rahn, of Pisgah Forest. She is employed in the Depart ment of Pathology at the School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. Mr. Almond has accepted a position on the faculty of the University of North Carolina as Instructor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice.
