Hill And Dale

June Meeting
The 'familiar, but true
quote, “June is dairy month”
was emphasized on Tuesday
at the regular meeting of the
Hill and Dale Extension
Homemakers Club which was
held at Camp Straus.
The president, Mrs. John
Michael* presided and open
ed the meeting by leading
the group in praying, The
Lord’s Prayer.
Miss Jean Childers, coun
ty home economics extension
agent, using an illustra
tive scroll showed that in
order to have "go power and
grow power” the four basic
food groups are essential to
building muscles, rich blood,
strong bones, teeth, steady
nerves, a good appetite and
digestion.
As Miss Childers discussed
the various foods she demon
strated the “easy on the bud
get” nutritive value of dry
milk and other dairy pro
ducts, as she shared two de
licious dishes, tuna - cheese
casserole and sherbet, as
proof of the “pudding.” She
also empMasized that the
housewife should beware ef
foods that deceive when it
comes to food value.
