Prominent Ministers Are Being Heard Each Sunday, Faith Chapel Outstanding ministers from North and South Carolina are being heard each Sunday at the Faith Memorial Chapel at Cedar Mountain. Services begin at 11:00 o’clock each Sunday morning at the beautiful Chapel, and everyone is invited. Stuart Rabb is chairman of the Board of Trustees, which has a Property Committee, a Choir and Music Committee and a Program and Publicity Committee. Uplinger of Syracuse, New York, was elected President of Lions International at the Associa tion’s 54th Annual Conven tion in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 22-25. Serving as the 55th President of the world’s largest humanitarian service organization, Uplinger leads some 960,000 members in 25,300 clubs located in 146 countries and geographic areas throughout the world. Lions International is best known for its aid to the blind and sight conservation ac tivities, international activi ties, international relations programs, and its many com munity service projects. “Lionism is Commitment” will be the primary theme during Uplinger’s 1971-1972 Presidential Year. Strategic Communications The United States Army has just announced a new enlist ment option which offers young men the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a 20th century communications operation. Accwdins tv Sgt. Martin, Army recruiter for Brevard, the Army is accepting a limit ed number of highly - qualified applicants for enlistment in the Strategic Communications Command. For those eligible, training is available in microwave sys tems, satellite communications, radar, computers and several other highly technical fields. An added feature of the en listment option allows an en listee to choose service in Eu rope if the Army makes the de cision on which of some nine schools he will attend. Or, he can select his own school from the list and leave his assign meat to the Army’s discretion. In either respect, he is guar anteed attendance at a highly technical school. The schools include those for strategic mic rowave systems repairman, sat ellite communications ground station equipment repairman, fixed station technical controll er, fixed ciphony repairman or automatic data processing sys tems repairman. Also offered are courses for dial central of fice repairmen, communica tions center specialists and da ta communications switching center specialists.
