Due Tax Refunds Greensboro — More than 1.5 million North Carolina tax payers are expected to receive refunds on their 1974 Federal income tax returns, according to Robert A. LeBaube, In ternal Revenue Service Director for North Carolina. During 1974, about 1.5 million North Carolinians received refunds totaling almost $410 million, an average of about $272 per taxpayers. Nationwide, the Internal Revenue Service expects to issue refunds worth about $31.6 billion. Mr. LeBaube said these refunds are not to be confused with any tax rebate proposed by the President of Congress. Such legislation has not been approved. Taxpayers should See Off Roadside Cleanup Is Held JOYCE THOMAS Our roadside clefln-up scheduled for last Saturday had to be postponed because of rain, however, several ladies showed up at the community center for a few hours of quUting. The roadside clean-up was held Tuesday, as Mr. and Mrs Roy Ludwig met the school bus at the foot of the moun tain, and the chUdren walked up the mountain gathering litter as they went. Several of the adults met at the center earlier Tuesday and cleaned up inside and outside the center, and cleaned up the Dunn's Creek Cemetery. Bill Wilson, who cracked a bone in his leg, and also to Mrs. Mary Jane Hogsed who recently underwent surgery on her hand. Mrs. Juanita Butterworth, representing the Transylvania Community Hospital, has recently completed three weeks of coronary care classes at the Veterans Hospital in Oteen.
