This November 16th, 1926. F. B, HARRILL* Trustee. 6-4t « THE HENRIETTA CAROLEEN SCHOOL NEWS OF INTEREST Caroleen, Dec. 6.—Miss Louise Holland, who is attending King s Business College at Charlotte, N. C., spent the week-end with Miss Willie Sue Mauney, at Henrietta. Our school regrets very much to knovf that one of our most populai tenth grade students, Miss Nell Hoy, has moved to Gaffney, S. C. We are glad to know that one of our ninth grade pupils, Paul Kenne dy, is back in school after-being ab sent for several days on account of sickness. Last Wednesday morning Miss Robinson was very much surprised to find her table loaded with apples, bananas, and oranges—a Thanks giving gift of the eighth grade girls and boys. The eighth grade then received their surprise—a Hershey bar for each one. The pupils of H. C. H. S. were entertained Thursday morning with | a play given by the seventh grade. The play was "The Courtship of Miles Standish," written by Vivian Greene and Dan Hughes. We regret that Miss Pauline Ken nedy, a pupil of the ninth grade, has been absent from school on account 3f illness. We are hoping to have ler back again soon. We have been playing a fine grade of basketball this season. The boys won 4 games out of 6. The games are as follows: Henrietta Mills 12; Central 18. Ellenboro 12; Central 13. i Ellenboro 12; Central 15. Cliffside 16; Central 32. Lattimore 30; Central 16. Lattimore 35; Central 21. ' On Tuesday November 30, the [ninth grade history class with their 1 teacher, Miss High, went on a visit to the cotton mill at Avondale. The purpose of this was to study the pro icess through which cotton has to go ; before it is made into cloth. This was very interesting to the pupils as some of them had never been in a cotton mill. I k The Lattimore Golds and Blacks [defeated the Henrietta-Caroleen Red and Whites in two games of basket ball last week. The Tuesday's game [was hard fought throughout. The iteams seemed to be well matched. !The Lattimore Highs did all their scoring in the first half of the game. The Henrietta-Caroleen Highs failed score field goals in the first half. ißut in the last five minutes play [they piled up 14 points and had the i Gold and Black lads from Lattimore guesing. The game ended 30 and 116 in Lattimore's favor. | The second game of the week was played at Lattimore. This also end -2d in a victory for the Gold and Black, but not quite sa bad as the jrst ganTe. This game ended 35 and 21 in favor of Lattimore. The Hen rietta-Caroleen lads still believe that fhey can win from the Lattimore. boys, and as everyone knows the season has just started.
