T.—A very inter ring missionary meeting was held m tfie home of Miss Ella Lynch, Monday evening, the members of the Cooper Town Circle and a few visiting members being present. Special \ songs and prayers were rendered and a poem, "December," was given by Edith Lynch, small daughter of Mrs. Ryby Lynch- She was dressed to represent the month of December with a holly wreath and tinsel around her head and shoulders. "Silent Night" was sung as a duet by Misses Margaret Lynch and Wellie Robert i son. Misses Mavis Robertson and I Pearle Mitchell gave a splendid se lection, "A Tither for Him." Lynch, Mrs. Urcella Lynch, Misses Margaret and Ella Lynch, Pearle Mitchell and Edith Lynch A special day of prayer will be observed at the Baptist church here Thursday, 9th, when all the ladies and as many others as can will meet at ten o'clock and engage in prayer, which is a State-wide plea to all congregations. Everyone is urged to come out and make the meeting count for something. The Ladies' Missionary Society of the Methodist church here will give their annual Christmas bazaar at the hall ne*t Saturday week, Dec. 18. Dinner will be served, sand wiches, cake, candy, and a beautiful selection of fancy holiday gifts will be on display for sale. Every pur chase will 'be highly appreciated and don't forget to come out. Mr. J. T. Harris, of Forest City, and Mr. T. C. Smith spent Monday in Charlotte on business. j - | Mr. and Mrs. Buren Phillips vis ited relatives and friends in Shelby and Fallston, Sunday. i Mrs. Jim Earley is still very ill and is confined to her bed. She was taken to the Rutherford Hospital Saturday for examination, but was able to return home. Heyward, who left sev eral weeks ago for New York City as employee in the head office of the Martel Mills, spent the week-end here with his family, and left this week for Batesboro, S. C., where he will be superintendent of another of the mills owned by the Martel Mills Co. He will move his family there shortly. Their many friends here 1 regret very much to see this splendid family leave our town, but trust they will like their new home fine. Mrs. Chas. James is assisting this week in the Caroleen Store, which is preparing for a big sale for ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reed and son, Bobby, spent Sunday in Sandy Mush, visiting Mrs. Reed's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McDaniel. LIBERTY ST. NEWS P Forest City, Dec. 6. —Mrs. John Hamrick spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. B. B. Burnette. Mrs. G. G. Frasier spent one aft ernoon last week with Mrs Francis Frasier. Mr. Cletus Randall spent Sanday afternoon with his cousin, Mr. Dor sey Randall. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Riser were pleasant visitors at Mr. Robert Towery's, Sunday. Mrs. Dorsey Randall and Miss Carrie Selvey spent Sunday after noon with Mrs. G. G. Frasier. Messrs. Gene Neighbors, Joe Jones, G. G. Frasier, Dorsey Ran dall and M. G. Smart went rabbit" hunting Saturday afternoon. They killed only three rabbits but report much fun while on the hunt. Mr. W.
