BAPTISTS HAVE XAiS'D $116,000 This Amount Pledged to Date In Sandy Run and Kings Mountain Association. A fourth meeting of the Baptist Centennial Campaign was held in so cial hall of the First Baptist church of Forest City Tuesday night, May first. This was the most enthusias tic meeting which had been held. Up to date, Kings Mountain Association has raised a total of , ninety one thousand dollars, Sandy Run As sociation twenty-five thousand, mak ing a total for the two associations of one hundred and sixteen thousand dollars; . . Many churches of the association have not yet reported and it is be lieved -a good additional sum will yet be reported. On i motion of Adams, the churches all agreed to continue" to get ill the additional subscriptions they -can until the association meets and to try to get up the total to one hundred and forty thousand dollars in tHe two associations, thus raising the forty thousand debt on Boiling Springs and having one hundred thousand dollars over. Trustees meeting at Boiling Springs Tuesday proceeded to elect teachers for the junior college, which will open up this fall. It was de cided that as many as possible would go to Ellenboro on next Sunday af ternoon, as the county Sunday school convention meets with Ellenboro church at that time. Timely and feeling remarks were made by Dr. Mercer and Dr. Adams. Spindale announced «navmg two five hundred dollar memorial gifts. Much and lasting good has been accomplished by these meetings. The sitting down and eating together, gets you acquainted, overcomes your prejudices, warms your heart, re serves are broken down, and at such times we are at our best. The in fluence of these meetings will be felt and seen in larger contributions to other causes, and more interest be ing shown in other work.
