S. Harris, director of the motor vehicle bureau, announced today. During the month there were also 34 cars recovered which had been reported stolen in previous months. RICE IS INSCRIBED RALEIGH, Oct. 4 Dr. A. T. Al len, state superintendent of public instruction, has received a grain of Washington, D. C rice with 124 letters inscribed on it as a gift from a museum at Delhi, India. The inscription, which can be read only with a magnifying glass, said: "May God grant a long, happy and prosperous life to Arch Turner Allen, Esquire, Ph. B., D. C.
