Furber Jones is sick at the residence of Mr. Brevard Springs, Dil Iworth. Messrs. J. C. and J. P. Long have moved their wholesale business from 85 South to 30 North College street. Mrs. Margaret B. Davis continues very ill at her home on West Seventh Btieet. Her condition this morning was not so favorable. Mr. J. M. McLaughlin, who lives at 602 N. Popular street, leaves to night for points on the Seaboard Rail road. He will return about the first of March. There was a small fire this after noon on East Fifth street. A house owned by Mr. P. M. Brown caught from a defective fiue. The blaze was put out before any damage was done. Miss Johnsie Mason, whose illness hat: been mentioned in the News is no better. Her condition was favorable up to last night when a sudden change for the worse came. She has been very ill all day. The Light Bearers of Tryon Street Iff. E. church will give a candy pulling in the city hall Friday afternoon com mencing at three o'clock. Everybody, old and young, are cordially invited to ccme and have a good time.
