After Mr. Carey's death Mrs. Carey
plans to go to Richmond. Max has

Mr. Carey's estate and conceals the
will. He confides in Mrs., Carey. He
persuades Mrs. Walton to sell him the
farm so he may 'give it to Ethelind.
