No. 1) prevented a dreadful tragedy and saved two lives. Doctors had said her frightful cough was a "consumption" cough and could do little to help her. After manv remedies fail ed, her aunt urged her to take Dr. King's New Discovery. "I have been using it for some time," she wrote "and the awful cough has almost gone. It also saved my little boy when taken with a severe bronchial trouble." This matchless medicine has no equal for throat and lung trouble. Price 50c and SI.OO. Trial bottle free. It now shows a tail which has ! the appearance of being about j fifty feet lo 'g. although it asj yet has the appearance of the rays from a searchlight. The comet i> near the "big dipper." appar-! ently fifteen feet above and a little to the left of the last star! in the handle of the dipper. Department Of Agriculture Esti mates Tobacco Crop At the State Department of Agriculture it is estimated that the tobacco crop in this state 1 was about ltf.ooo acres and that the yield was around 450 to the acre, compared with 215,000 acres and HOO pounds to the acre last year. Very dry conditions at the planting season and con dition far into the period of cultivation cut down greatly both acreage and the yield to the care. A large rattle snake with seven rattles was killed on the lawn in front of the residence of Mr. W. W. King, in Danbury, Friday afternoon. The little son of Sheriff C. M. Jones came very near being bitten by the snake. * IT'S EQUAL DON'T EXIST. No one has ever made a salve, i ointment or balm to compare | with Bucklen's Arnica Salve. The young man was held high in esteem by all who knew him. He was industrious and popular. He is survived by his father, one : sister and five little brothers, the mother having died two years ago. IS THE WORLD GROWING BETTER? Many things go to prove that it is. The way thousands are try ing to help others is proof. Among them is Mrs. W. W. Gould, of Pittsfield, N. H. Find ing good health by taking Elec tric Bitters, she now advises other sufferers everywhere, to take them. "For years I suffer !ed with stomach and kidney ; trouble," she writes. The time ot the ope ning of the high school at King has been postponed until Oct. 23rd. This was done on account of the fact that the children >t' a great many farmers who patr»d2e the school are still busy on the farms and can't attend the school now. It is learned that several other schools in the ! county will not open yet fur tne , same reason. 1 ; Some of the farmers in this section are curing their tobacco , i very fine.
