PASCHALL ‘D UNC To Show Several New Faces Against Gobblers Chapel Hill, Nov. 4. —When North Carolina and Virginia Tech football teams clash here Saturday at 2 o’clock the Tar Heels will show several new faces in their starting lineup. , Coach Ray Wolf plans to start four sophomores: Paul Severin and Jim M-allory, ends; Gates Kimball, tackle; and Bob Smith, center. The Tar Heel mentor also indicated he would use Tony Cernugel at fullback instead of the veteran Jack Kraynick. Cer nugel, hampered by injuries for two years has played only a few minutes this season. He showed so much im provement. this week, however, that he earned a position in the starting line up. The Tar Heels were not in top con dition as they took their final polish ing drills this afternoon. George Stirn weiss, triple-threat quarterback; Two Va. Tech r Wtain frank pirrcb* Virginia Tech find Captain Frank Pierce, end, and George- Worthington, guard, are two : of the kingpins of Virginia Tech's light but "hard hitting line which meets Carolina at Chapel Hill Satur day afternoon at 2 o’clock. Pierce, a fast, aggressive pass snatching wingman, and Worthington, .an agile and durable good, played a ' prominent part in the Gobblers’ sur prising 7 to 0 victory over N. C. State Saturday. They frequently broke thro ugh to throw the Wolfpack backs for losses. Indications point to a capacity crowd Saturday. The University will be host to over 12,00© high school seniors and they will attend the game. Governor Hoey and prominent state officials will be presented to the visi tors between the halves. Indications point to a near capacity Crowd. Carolina and Virginia Tech will have as their guests more than 12,000 high school seniors who will come here for the first North Carolina High School Day. Governor Clyde Hoey and other prominent state no tables will attend the game and will be presented to the visitors between the halves. While the advance dope points to a Carolina victory, general consensus is that Saturday’s game will be close and packed with thrills. Probably the most improvedi team in the Southern Conference, the Gobblers turned in the best performance of the season last week by upsetting N. C. State’s fine team 7-0.
