FARM CONDITIONS
RATED EXCELLENT
Raleigh. Sept. 18.—An appraisal
of the farm situation as of the first
| of September shows that Tar Heel
farmers have in prospect very-good
to-exeellent crops of corn, peanuts,
cotton, and tobacco, and a fair crop
of hay. Statistician G. D. Collins of
the State Department of Agricul

Present indications, Collins said,
arc that North Carolina farmer.- will
harvest larger-than-average crops
of corn and hay this season, but th^
total volume of each crop will be
less than last year. Corn production
is now forecast at 50,353.000 bushels,
