TOMORROW FRIDAY "PEARL OF THE ARMY" 4th Episode iNew York World: There can be only one answer on the part of the United States to the new German submarine proclamation and that answer should be made today. The German ambassador must receive his passports forthwith and diplo matic relations must cease at once. We have made every concession to Germany that self-respect will per mit, and all those concessions have proved to be in vain. If Germany wants war with the United States, let Germany have war with the Unit ed States. Our hands are clean. iNew York American: It is a time to walk warily, to decide coolly, to be very sure of each step and very confident of each decision. And certainly we must assure the presi dent that whatever the issue may be, the nation is loyally behind him. Springfield Republican: This means impossible conditions for the Unit ed States and no American in his senses would consider for a moment acquiescence in Germany's action. iSan Francisco Chronicle: Looked at in a practical war, Germany is simply cutting loose all restraints. It is a desperate move, but America can and should no noth ing until she is specifically injured. Denver Post: Germany is rushing to her doom This final step of Ger many, in defiance of the United States, permits President Wilson to have no other choice than the sever ance of diplomatic relations altogether. New York Sun: The note closes for the present chapter of altruistic j endeavors and tentatives of parley! into which President wnson nas written his idealistic hopes. It cre ates an entirely new situation, seri ous in the extreme in its possibih- ties of untoward incidents which; may p.t to the test the steadfast-; ness of Washington in its attitude.: Sun: The government is; facing the most critical situation of ja the whole war. GRIMES TESTIFIES. Robersonville, N. C, January 22nd, 1917. Person Remedy Company, Charlotte, N. C. Gentlemen: Some time ago I was attack ed with a serious spell of Ty phoid fever, which left me in a very weak condition and effect ed my limbs. We decided it had resulted in white swelling. Every remedy we could think of was used, but to no effect. My suffering was great and I had to go on crutches. At last we were induced to try Mrs. Joe Person's Remedy, after suf fering for two years, and the result was marvelous. After taking eight bottles I was en tirely cued and have never had a symptom of trouble since. My faith in Mrs. Joe Person's Remedy is great and I would advise all sufferers to give it a trial and be convinced as I have. (Signed)) MRS. R. W.
