Mundays' farm two miles from Terrell, in Catawba county, on the Catawba river, killed What was sup posed to be a wild duck. And thereby hangs quite an interesting and unusual coincident. A small silver band encircled one leg of the duck, on which was stamped in plain letters: "If killed or captured no. tify Her,"y R. Connor, Charleston, S. C." The killing of the duck and the finding of the band was reported to Mr. T. F. Connor of Terrell, Ca tawba county. Mr. Connor wrote a letter to Henry W. Connor at Char leston and in due course of time it develops that Henry W. Connor, law yer and banker of Charleston is a full cousin of T. E. Connor of Terrell. The duck was killed on the planta a: mailir mimod hv tVipir eTand- i father, Henry W. Connor, w was a j member of congress from 1818 to i 1840. It transpires that there were f TiA Into Henrv W. Connor, one of whom followed the course of the Catawba and landed at Charleston, where he gained prom inence as a business man and fame as a war general. This Henry W. Connor now living is interesting himself in the migration of ducks, and throuhg this novel way he has r kinchin at the old family base which had never been known to him. It is singular indeed that the duck should be the means of opening up a new branch to a family tree rich in history of ante-bellum days. The Connors both in North and South Car olina are influencial and foremost in the affairs of the state and nation. The above was handed your corres pondent by W. C.
