In the passing of J. D. McCollum In
this city last Thursday afternoon this
lost one of Its oldest itr

widely known and had a host of friends.
Mr. McOollum's health began to fall
about a year ago and for weeks there
had been no hope of his recovery of

paralysis. All that Mends and relatives

County, not far from Chapel Hill «

ing the years that he engaged In farm
