Morns, Wife and seven children, arrived In New Bern this morning on the east bound Norfolk and Southern train, returning from Utah, where they have been living for the past four years. Mr. Morris and his family are enroute to their old home on Little Swift Creek, about 18 miles from New Bern. The gentle man from Utah says he is sufficiently amused with that State, and that old North Carolina is good enough for him. Deputy Sheriff J. F. Lucas, of Beau fort county, came over to New Bern, yesterday, to take back a colored prisoner, John Gllmore, who is want ed In that county for the shooting of one, Thomas Flager, on Christmas Eve night. Gllmore was arrested in Cra ven county and placed in Jail "here pending the arrival of a Beantort county officer. The Deputy returned with his prisoner this morning. 'The shooting took place at Burgaw, and Is said to have been the fruits of too much booze, and jealousy over a col ored damsel. Flager is seriously wounded in his left chest and at pres ent is in the hospital at Washington, N. C. The local market was well supplied yesterday evening with fish. New Riv er mullets 'being the most prominent kind. The wholesale dealers made fairly good shipments by express to i several points throughout the State.
