CAMPBELL, Executive Vice-President FARM LAND PRICES DROP IN AMERICA Washington, • April 21—The Gov ernment repotted today that the war-inspired boom in farm land prices apparently has passed its peak. For the first time in 10 years, the general level of farm real estate values has declined. A 15 per cent drop in farm product prices from the post-war record was said to be a major cause of the decline in land prices. The Bureau of Agriculture Econ omics said the index of land values on March 1 this year was one per cent below that of last Nov. 1. This is the first time since 1939 that the index has shown a decrease. The level of land values still was 3 per cent above March 1, 1948. The bureau forsaw further de clines, but it said they are likely to j lag behind decreases in farm pro ! duct prices. "Since land values in the country I as a whole have increased about two-fifths as much as has net farm income since 1940, however, the de cline in land values probably will lag behind price declines," the bu reau said. The bureau also reported a slow ing up of a demand for farms. It said subsantially fewer farms were sold last year than in the previous year. It said almost a third fewer sales were made during the past year than during the peak year 1946. »«■—Hf Sarah ^/Inri s CooKirxg Class Liver Loaf 1 1-2 lbs. liver 1 cup bread crumbs 2, cup milk 1 onion 1 egg 1 teaspoon salt Pour boiling water over liver, re move outside skin and veins.
