DECEMBER IS A BUSY MONTH FOR HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUBS tt a December has been a busy month for Home Demonstration clubs. Members have made use of the in struction given them in making trays, Christmas decorations for the door and other arrangements for the home as well as gifts for relatives and friends. December is also the month for Christmas parties and is the month designated for election of officers. In some cases, however, time was limited and elections could not be held or only a president has been named and the task was referred to a nominating committee. The list of officers elected to date was released last week by Miss Elsie Garrett, county agent, as fol lows: Cherry Springs: Mrs. L. L. Christmas Program At Nebo Methodist A Christmas cantata - drama, j "Worship at the Manger," will be j ?iven at the Nebo Methodist church j Sunday, December 25, at 7:30 p.! The three-act drama includes a j Choir, a Narrator, Isaiah, Jethro, j Rachael, David, Benjamin, Women! of Judah, Pilgrims, Nathan Joram, j Bethlehem Maidens, and Bethle-! hem children. The climax of the pageant is the scene of the Nativity, with Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, and entire cast. Cross and Robin Hood made a trip to Mitchell, Avery and Yancey counties this week and talked with individuals and busi ness firms to see if they would urge contributions from their respective areas and said yesterday prospects appeared bright for donations from these areas. Cross pointed out that by build ing a hospital which would offer services to surrounding counties, Marion would be granted a larger and better hospital than might; otherwise be built here. Two branches of the Northwest em Bank, at Spruce Pine and i Burnsville, would act as receiving agencies for funds coming from those areas.
