Brooklyn, are completing a ten days stay,

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thompson, of East
Liverpool, O., are making a short visit

gin at once to prepare The Carolina for
its opening January 9th.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Warfleltl, of Brook
lyn, return home after a very pleasant
two weeks visit, planning to come again.
Mr. Warfield enjoyed the quail shoot
ing while here and was fortunate enough
to shoot a fox.

Takes Cup in First Trap Event of
the Season.
Early interest in trap shooting has
never been greater and it promises well
for the coming tournament season.
Wednesday afternoon an informal
sweepstake shoot for a pewter stein was
held, twenty-live single targets, from the
expert traps, and .John C. Thompson, of
Fast Liverpool, ()., was the winner.
.1. V. Hall, of Pittsburg, finished sec
ond; Herbert L. Jillson, of Worcester,
third; and F. A. King, of Xorthboro and
William F. Macgraw, of Philadelphia,
tied for fourth place. Dr. George S. Hill,
of Marblehead, Mass., and Charles V.
Frazer wen also among those who shot.

Maryland Sportsmen Kill Twenty
Quail and Itun out of Ammunition.
The quail shooting is prime, and a
number of sportsmen are enjoying it.
H. 1). Haiiway, C. C. Ilamvay, and J.
Wallace Browne, of Belair, Md., rode out
to West End on the A. & A. train Wed
nesday and walked back, linding birds
extremely numerous. At noon they had
started nine coveys, secured twenty quail
were out of ammunition, and forced to
stop hunting.
John C. Thompson, of East Liverpool,
()., and William F. Macgraw, of Philadel
phia, are spending a portion of their time
in the tield.
