Military Euchre provided a novel evou ings's entertainment at The Holly Inn Wednesday, the guests of the Village combining to make a party of seventy two, the largest of the season, whic h crowded the Dutch Room to its capacity. The winning garrison consisted of Mrs. II. B. Evans, Boston; Miss V. M. Hous ton, Holyoke, Mass.; Mrs. Telfair Creighton, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. 1J, U. Perkins, New York ; Mr. L. 1). Pierce. The prizes were unusually attractive. The attendance at last week's hearts party was large and the prizes in excel lent taste. Mrs. W. J. Godfrey, Boston, won the first women's prize, a brass clock. Mrs. I. S. Case, New York, took second, a dec orated portfolio, and Miss Eleanor Head won third, a Mexican drawn work collar. 'CSV WHEN THE HEART HEATS FAST. Why? Why? Why?" The second part will include a cake walk, banjo and mandolin duet and jig and reel dance, closing with an afterpiece entitled, "The Arrival of Mr. Erastus Got Rocks at The Haulem Inn.' The principal characters in the show will be Booker T. Washington, interlo cutor ; Willie Doit, Otto What, Eli Pratt, Whitelaw Black, Silas Decrum and Tank Jackson, ends. The chorus will include some twenty voices. The curtain will be rung up at precise ly 8 :15. The price of admission will be fifty cents for the first five rows of seats, which will be reserved, and thirty-five cents for the balance of the house. Tick ets are now on sale at the Department Store and the various hotels. WhiMt at The Harvard. Seven tables were filled at the progres sive whist party held at The Harvard Thursday evening. The prize winners were Mrs. C. A. Moores, Cincinnati ; Mrs. H. D. Evans, Boston; Mr. W. C. Peet, New York; and Mrs. F. Norton Biggs, Hinsdale, 111. The first men's prize, a book, "The Mil lionaire Baby", was won by Mr. T. B. Brown, New York. Mr. E. A. Tracey, Coventry, Ct., secured second, a leather picture frame, and the third, a decorated collar box, went to Mr. George II. Con verse, Boston. WhUt at The IBerkithire. At the weekly card party at The Berk shire Friday evening, Mrs. C. P. I '')'" wood, East Orange, N. J., won the lirst women's prize and Mrs. W. E. Honvill, Brooklyn, N. Y., the second. Mr. V. M. The sun parlor at the Pine Grove House is being much enjoyed by'the guests lor afternoon teas and candy pulls. Mr. Burt Conn, Philadelphia, is making a short visit. Miss Josie Baker, Brook lyn, is spending a few weeks here. Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard are on a short trip to Camden, S. C.
