The Holly Inn is one of the most comfortable, attractive and popular hotels in
the South, accommodating with its annexes, 200 gue-ts. The interior, which has
been thoroughly renovated and refurnished since last season, is cheerful and home
like, no effort having been spared in putting the rooms and furnishings in first-class
condition. There are a number of rooms connected with private baths which are
let singly or en suite. The hotel is heated throughout by steam and there are open
fires in the foyer and parlors. A large music room where daily concerts and
dancing are enjoyed, together with the attractive Dutch room and the billiard room,
provide appreciated social features. The excellent cuisine and service for which
the hotel is noted, will be maintained and patrons will find the Holly Inn a most
comfortable home from January to May.

Arrivals who Come for March
The Week One of Man Dinner
and Diversified Itecreations
in the Open Air
THE WEEK has been
one of many dinners,
among the most unique
a birthday anniversary
spread tendered at The
Carolina by Mr. and
Mrs. Justus Kendall of
Bethlehem. The nov
elty was a table repro
ducing in miniature the much-trapped
seventeenth hole on the number two
golf course; tee, bunkers, traps, putting
green and background of trees with the
sedge grass, a storm shel
ter house and a stray pony. The favors
were violet boutonnieres, typical of
Spring days, and tiny rakes and picks,
suggestive of the clubs best adapted to
play the hole ! 1 Mr. and Mrs. George
N. Towle of Boston were hosts at an
elaborate Carolina spread for a group in
cluding Mr. and Mrs. Parker W. Whitte-
more, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Spring, Mr.
and Mrs. William Merrill and Mrs. C. A.
Sinclair, all of Boston, Mr. and Mrs.
Willis Walker of Minneapolis, Miss E.
Marie Sinclair and Miss Beatrice Slack
of New York. The table was lavishly
decorated with cut flowers, and the
favors were clay jugs and pine cone bas
kets from the Arts and Crafts Shop.
Bridge followed dinner. 1 Mr. E. M.
Slayton of Manchester, N. II., gave
stag party at the Lift-the-Latch
cabin, Pinebluff, for Messrs. W. E.
Wells, J. M. Wells and Arthur W. Wells
of Newell, W. Va., W. F. Lewis of East
Liverpool, Ohio, and L. M. Folsora of
Manchester. HThe home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. S. Newcomb at Lake View was
the destination point for a jolly eques
trian picnic, and Mrs. William L. Hurd
of Pittsburgh entertained at "The Pines"
Thursday with afternoon tea in honor
of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. J. V, Hurd
(nee Dorothy Campbell), f Out of
doors numerous events have combined
with the annual Spring golf tournament
