K. held *a very important call meeting last Tuesday evening with Miss.Katheryn McKee at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Carrie McKee. This being the first business meeting since Misses Katheryn McKee and Evelyn Campbell were taken into the Klan, a lengthy business session was necessary. Various questions of im portance were discussed and a pro gram for the summer was made out. MISSES ALLISON AND LONG ENTERTAINED Mesdames H. E. Buchanan and J. R. Buchanan were joint hostesses at a delightful bridge party, Saturday af ternoon at the home of the former, en tertafning for Misses Ruth Allison and Mayme Long, who left Monday for the Asheville Normal summer school. The house was lovely with spring flowers. Those playing were Misses Jane Coward, Lilly Everette, ^ Dorothy McKee, Inez Sullivan, Mar garet Candler, Mayme Long, Ruth Al lison, Hannah and Dorothy Moore. Miss Elizabeth Robbins was a tea guest. , MISSIONARY SOCIETY MEETS The June meeting of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist church was held with Mrs. J. J. Hook er at her home on last Tuesday after noon. This was an unusually good meeting, twenty-Rve members being present. Mrs. M. D. Cowan, the presi dent, opened the meeting. A collection for Brevard Institute was taken and members liberally responded. After the business the social service program of which Mrs. A. O. Allison had charge was taken up. She was ab ly assisted by Mrs. J. R. Buchanan. The hostess served an ice course. The next meeting will be with Mrs. W. M. Robbins. ,' Mr. and Mrs. Frank West have re turned from Virginia where they have been visiting Mr. West's people.
