Candler yesterday af , ternoon was led by Mrs. Billy Davis. Subject for the program was "Wom an Faces A New Task, and papers on "The Woman of China." The Woman of Japan" and "The Worn-1 an of Latin Amcrica" were read by' Mrs. Davis, Mrs. W. M. Robbins and Mrs. W. M. Brown. Mrs. M. D. Cowan, the president of , the society, during the business ses j sion appointed Mrs. Annie Tompkins a delegate to the annual convention of the missionary societies of the Western North Carolina Conference, ' with Mrs. W. M. Robbins as alter | nate. The convention meets this year, I the latter part of April,-in Greens boro^ I Mrs. Candler served delightful re freshments during the social hour. W. M. S. For her marriage, the bride wore a dress of tan flat crepe, with all ac cessories of tan.
